Patrick Bauchau: Le Maître de musique (The Music Teacher)

Opera star Joachim Dallayrac (José Van Dam) shocks the world when he suddenly announces his retirement. Only Prince Scotti (Patrick Bauchau) is pleased. Scotti is a wealthy and influential patron of the arts who broke his voice years earlier in a famous vocal duel with Dallayrac.

Dallayrac retires to his home in the country to teach a promising young soprano, Sophie. He later adds young thief Jean to his very short list of students. The two train relentlessly under Joachim and are eventually invited to an international singing competition - staged by none other than Prince Scotti. The competition could be the start of great careers for Sophie and Jean, or it could lead to Scotti's revenge against his lifelong rival.
