Do not use photo without prior, written permission.Patrick Bauchau appears as Archon Raine in Kindred: The Embraced, a series that ran on Fox in 1996 and is now available on video and DVD. There are eight episodes, seven of which aired. The show was based loosely on the role-playing game, Vampire: The Masquerade.

The series takes place in San Francisco. In the show there are five clans of Kindred: Ventrue, Toreador, Bruja, Gangrel, and Nosferatu. Each clan has a Primogen, and the city has a Prince who rules all the clans. Kindred are vampires, yet they live among humans undetected, maintaining the Masquerade in order to hide their existence.

Patrick's character, Archon Raine, is the Ventrue Primogen and former Prince of the city. He once ruled with a strong hand, keeping a forced peace among the clans. He has now turned over the role of Prince to his protégé, Julian Luna (the late Mark Frankel), and continues to act as advisor and mentor to Julian.

Julian struggles to keep the peace between the clans...and to ensure the Masquerade is kept. He is hampered by the internal conflicts and power struggles both between and within the clans, as well as by the actions of a curious police officer who dogs him.

Kindred: The Embraced is available on video and DVD in a three-volume set containing all eight of the episodes produced. It is distributed by Republic Pictures.
