Patrick Bauchau: Jenipapo

Do not use photo without prior, written permission.Father Stephen Louis (Patrick Bauchau) is a charismatic priest in Brazil who for years has been outspoken on behalf of the poor workers battling over land rights. Suddenly he has gone silent just as an important land bill is about to be voted upon. Michael Coleman (Henry Czerny), a brash American reporter working in Brazil, is obsessed with Father Stephen and will stop at nothing to gain an interview with him.

Jenipapo (The Interview) follows Coleman in his efforts to obtain the interview with Father Stephen. We see Coleman struggle as he eventually sacrifices journalistic ethics for the sake of the story, and we discover why Father Stephen has refused to speak.

Jenipapo was written by Monique Gardenberg and Cyrus Nowrasteh and directed by Monique Gardenberg. It airs on the Sundance Channel.
