Patrick Bauchau: Jackpot

Patrick Bauchau appears with his friend and Pretender co-star Jon Gries in the independent film, Jackpot, about a struggling musician who travels the roads of America with his manager. Bauchau plays a surreal Santa Claus and does the voiceover role of Sevon, a self-help Guru, using the trademark voice for which he is known. Jon Gries plays (and sings as) the musician in the film, starring along with Garrett Morris as his manager, Anthony Edwards as his brother, Adam Baldwin, Daryl Hannah (playing Gries' estranged wife), Crystal Bernard, Peggy Lipton, Mac Davis and others.

Jackpot was written by the Polish Brothers (Twin Falls Idaho) and directed by Michael Polish. The film was shot in the extraordinary 24-frame video (and transferred to film) that George Lucas is using on the new Star Wars films. Jackpot was named Best Film in the New American Cinema category at the 2001 Seattle Film Festival.
